Presenter Bio

James Geshwiler


James Geshwiler oversees CommonAngels' deal flow, due diligence and investment process. He also manages the group's strategic direction and works closely with follow-on investors.

Mr. Geshwiler brings a decade of experience in analyzing and negotiating high-risk technology projects. He previously was a program manager at the US Department of Energy, supervising research and analysis on nuclear materials programs. He was the science and technology officer for the State Department's Office of Russian Affairs and was one of the negotiators for the agreement for the International Space Station. James also was a software systems engineer for large-scale client-server networks.

He was Phi Beta Kappa and holds a bachelor's degree with highest honors from the Liberal Arts Honors Program at the University of Texas at Austin, a master's degree in political science from UCLA, and an MBA from MIT's Sloan School of Management.

When not working with start-ups, James often can be found rowing on the Charles River.
